The Auditorium

Our state-of-the-art auditorium seats over 1,400 people and is a central gathering space for school life. It hosts assemblies, productions, concerts, prizegivings, and guest speakers, and is the heart of our performing arts programme.Fully equipped with professional lighting, sound, and technical capability, the auditorium provides a venue students are proud to perform in and a space that brings the whole school community together.

Sports Academies & Training Facilities

WBHS is home to a number of elite Sports Academies, including Rugby, Football, Basketball, Tennis, and Golf, all training on campus with specialist coaches.
Students balance high-performance sport with academic study, supported by strength and conditioning facilities, video analysis and performance planning, and clear pathways into representative and national honours.

Additional sporting facilities include two indoor gyms, a fully equipped weights room, an indoor bouldering climbing wall, and cricket nets. These spaces support both elite performance and broad participation across year levels.

Music Facilities

Dedicated, soundproof practice rooms, a recording studio, and a performance suite support our strong music programme. Students rehearse and create daily across a wide range of genres, including rock, jazz, classical, and contemporary music.These spaces allow creativity to flourish and support both individual practice and group performance.

Trades & Technology Centre

Our purpose-built Trade Centre provides industry-standard workshops for automotive, building and construction, design and engineering, electrical, and hospitality.

Students gain hands-on experience, complete recognised qualifications, and often leave school with tools, industry connections, and apprenticeships already in place. This facility underpins our strong vocational pathways and commitment to employment-ready learning.

Outdoor Pool & Courts

Our 28-metre, eight-lane outdoor swimming pool is open year-round and used for curriculum learning, swimming sports, learn-to-swim programmes, and house competitions. It is a much-loved feature of the school, particularly during warm days.We also have six full-size astroturf tennis courts, along with a partially covered court, ensuring training and competition can continue in all weather. These courts are used daily for physical education, academy training, and house sport.

Te Awatea – Health and Wellbeing Centre

Te Awatea is our on-site Health and Wellbeing Centre, providing free and confidential nursing and counselling services every school day.

From minor injuries to wellbeing check-ins and mental health support, registered staff provide care in a safe, welcoming environment. Te Awatea plays an important role in ensuring students feel supported, listened to, and cared for.

Our spacious cafeteria offers fresh, affordable meals prepared on-site daily. A wide range of options, including bagels, burgers, salads, and vegetarian choices, ensures that students are well-fueled for learning and activity.

With ample seating indoors and out, the cafeteria is an important social hub within the school.

Library & Study Spaces

Our modern library and bookable study rooms are open before school, at interval, lunchtime, and after school. With quiet study zones, fast Wi-Fi, and teacher-librarian support, these spaces support independent learning, collaboration, and academic success.
