The Arts and Culture programme at Whangārei Boys’ High School is vibrant, inclusive, and highly successful. Through performance, creativity, service, and leadership, students are encouraged to express who they are, work collaboratively, and contribute positively to school life.
Annual highlights include the Festival of Performing Arts, senior drama productions, Fideliter Jazz Band concerts, Smokefree Rockquest, the Chamber Music Contest, and the Sheila Winn Shakespeare Festival, where students regularly achieve national representation. Cultural performance is a strong and valued part of our school identity through Te Aka Matua Kapa Haka and the combined WBHS/WGHS group, Te Kapa Rau Aroha.
Students involved in visual arts, photography, and digital design consistently achieve success through national scholarships, competitions, and exhibitions.
