Deepening Skills & Early Choice
Core subjects continue full-year while six options allow greater personalisation. Students take more ownership and most complete NCEA Literacy & Numeracy.
The same five core subjects run all year, now at a higher level, with increased challenge and inquiry-based tasks.
Option subjects remain half-year but boys choose from a wider pool, often continuing passions discovered in Year 9.
Teaching becomes more flexible, encouraging critical thinking and collaboration. By the end of Year 10 almost every student has achieved the mandatory Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite, removing pressure in senior years and building confidence for NCEA ahead.
