Year 9

Strong Foundations

A structured year with full-year core subjects and six half-year options. Teachers guide learning while building confidence and essential skills.
Boys follow compulsory English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and a full-year Physical Education & Health programme.

Six rotating option subjects introduce new disciplines and spark interests. Teaching is supportive and scaffolded, with clear routines. Most boys begin preparing for NCEA Literacy & Numeracy co-requisites.

Digital device use is embedded daily, and Inclusive Learning support is readily available. The focus is on belonging, strong learning habits and discovering strengths in a safe environment.
