Become a Homestay Family
Opening your home to an international student is about more than providing a place to stay. It is an opportunity to share everyday New Zealand life, build meaningful connections, and play an important role in a young person’s journey.
As a homestay family for Whangārei Boys’ High School, you provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where students can settle in, feel a sense of belonging, and thrive. Homestay families help students experience authentic Kiwi culture, practise English in a natural setting, and feel part of a family while they are away from home.
We take care to carefully match students with host families and provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the placement. You are never on your own. Hosting can be flexible and rewarding, and many families find the relationships formed last well beyond the student’s time at school.
By becoming a homestay family, you become part of our wider WBHS whānau and help open the door to the world for our international students.
