Sport Results Term 1 Week 1 (During the Holidays)

ADVENTURE RACING –  The National Torpedo7 Get2Go Final was held at the Hillary Outdoors Great Barrier Island from the 12th – 17th December 2020.

It was an intense week with the events consisting of a variety of challenges including rock climbing, high ropes, sailing, kayaking, raft building, swimming, running and an expedition event on navigation.

Congratulations to Hamish Clinch, Mason Gray, Fergus Manson and Jack Saunders participating with WGHS.

The top team in the Mixed Premier category from each regional challenge was invited to represent their region in the final against the very best adventure teams from around the country. WBHS/ WGHS participated and placed 9th in the country.

ATHLETICS – Athan Thompson competed in the 3000m road run held in Tauranga in December 2020 and he was placed an amazing 4th overall in NZ.

23rd January 2021 WBHS 222/9 played Bream Bay Cricket Club 218/9 – (Draw)

30th January 2021 WBHS 158/10 played Kamo Cricket Club 133/9 – (Draw)

RUGBY 7’S –   WBHS U15 7’s team competed at the Condor 7’s National champs played at Kings College. They took home the consolation plate shield beating Westlake Boys’ High School 39-5.

Congratulations to Tiaki Campbell, Tai Clyde, Regan Cocking, Scott Harrison, Kier Henry, Tai Martin, Cravin Poutai, Nathan Salmon, Hayden Shelford, Kenneth Tua, Unique Waerehu and Kaina Whiu-Hemara.

TOUCH RUGBY – WBHS touch rugby team travelled to Rotorua to compete in the National Secondary Schools tournament. They placed 19th overall.
