Thank you for expressing your interest in Whangarei Boys’ High Schools Auditorium. Our state-of-the-art facility serves as an ideal venue for a diverse range of events, from community gatherings, concerts, performances/ productions, to lectures and conferences.
Completed in May 2022, our new school stands as a beacon in Northland, offering an exciting venue option.
Quickly becoming the heart of both our school and community, the auditorium is a versatile space with movable furniture, over 1300 seats, and the flexibility to host throughout the year. The auditorium itself boasts a versatile stage, theatrical lighting, high quality sound system and a cutting-edge IT system that promises to captivate your audiences and ensure a seamless experience for performers. Our dedicated technicians are on hand to ensure everything comes together flawlessly.
Ample free parking, including 124 car parks and 4 wheelchair-accessible parks on the school grounds, ensures convenience for your attendees. Additional parking is available on surrounding streets.

Venue Hire
Hiring our venue begins with a conversation with our Facilities Manager- Ashlee McLeod. Following a thorough discussion of your event needs, she will adeptly customize a quotation to align with your specific requirements.

Auditorium Specifications
With flexible seating options on the ground floor, the auditorium holds around 1,400 people (including 557 fixed seats on the mezzanine floor). Downstairs is wheel-chair accessible (including a wheelchair lift onto the stage). The ground floor can be configured for multiple uses including table-seated events.
The auditorium stage is 11.7 meters wide and 4 meters deep, with additional space in the wings. We have moveable staging, which increases the stage to 6 meters deep or the option to create a catwalk. There is a Green Room behind the stage, plus three additional joining classrooms. One of these classrooms has a wall of full-length mirrors. The auditorium is serviced by 8 unisex toilet facilities, two of which are wheelchair accessible.
