A hard fought competition with both Junior and Senior teams playing. There were 82 boys involved.

Surfing:
The Northland Scholastics Surfing Team came fourth in the National Competition held in Kaikoura last week. WBHS had four students in the team: Cooper Ashill in U14s. Tai Erceg Grey, Ari D’Anvers, and Izaak Hayes in the U16s.
Ari came 2nd in the U16s finals and Izaak came 4th. Congratulations to everyone who headed south to compete, great result.
Mountain Biking:
Jayden Hudson Owen entered the Auckland Secondary School XC race at Totara Park on Sunday 11th October. He placed sixth, congratulations Jayden.

NZ Secondary Schools National Clay Target Championship
1. NZ Point Score – Cole Towgood 3rd
Cole Towgood represented the North Island Secondary Schools in the North versus South competition, making him one of the top five shooters in the North Island. Congratulations Cole.
Swimming:
NZSS Swimming Championships were held 15th – 18th October in Hamilton.
We had 2 students attend, Luca Matenga and Ry Luff, both achieving personal bests. This national event sees the best secondary school athletes go head-to-head for the title of national champion and the secondary schools seeking the top school title.
Tennis:
Daniel Hammond competed in the J5 U18 NZ Doubles Tournament in Christchurch 5th – 10th October.
Daniel and his partner Zino Poole won all their rounds to play in the final, with a 4-6 loss, 6-4 win and a 9-11 loss to place runner up. Congratulations Daniel, wonderful achievement.
